In the 18th century the musician Ditters of Dittersdorf was called to the fortress and Jánský Vrch became the centre of musical life for the whole Silesia.
The castle encompasses several styles and is thus architecturally and urbanistically very valuable.
The most valuable monument are the sculptures and paintings in the upper chateau chapel. There is also the largest collection of pipes and smoking paraphernalia in the Czech Republic. It consists of 1200 exhibits from all over the world. The pride of the castle is also the gas lighting, which was built in 1906, and the water supply system, which was put into operation at the end of the 18th century and has been renovated several times in later years.
Jánský Vrch Chateau also offers night tours, theatre performances, fairs and balls in the chateau courtyard. Tours of the castle are divided into two visitor circuits:
- I. circuit – will present the preserved original equipment mostly from the 19th century. Among the most valuable monuments are the sculptures and paintings of the upper chateau chapel, from late Gothic to Baroque. You will also see the largest collection of pipes in the Czech Republic. The length of the tour is 50 minutes.
