Rejvíz belongs to the National Nature Reserve in Hrubý Jeseník and is known mainly for its extensive peat bogs, beautiful nature and moss pools. The surface area of the large pond is 1 692m2, the depth is 2 – 3 m and the volume is 4 048m3. The peat bog was created in the postglacial period and its exceptional natural environment has been preserved thanks to the stable climatic conditions (average annual temperature 5.6 °C, annual rainfall 1 400 mm, altitude 720 – 770 m). The typical peat vegetation is also represented by native bog pine, Carpathian birch and spruce.
The Rejvíz Moss Pond Nature Trail is intended for hikers only. Entrance to the large moss pond is charged and leads about 0.5 km across the peat bog on a hut path.
